A SHIPBUILDING STORY TO SET NEW STANDARDS
Gelibolu Shipyard has completed the steel cutting ceremony for their new General Cargo Vessel, NB 60, designed and developed by Conoship International.
The 3600 DWT carrying capacity sea-river coaster has been designed with diesel-electric propulsion and the highest fuel efficiency standards.
Designed to be both efficient and easily adaptable to new technologies, the project is considered “future proof” and is already below EEDI phase 3 requirements.
‘’Our project has been designed to be well-prepared for the future. As we know, fuel consumption, new types of fuel, renewable energies and energy savings are key topics in all areas of newbuilding. Bearing in mind market requirements, the operating area and priorities of our customers, we believe this vessel will set a new standard in its class now and in the future. Its arrangement and concept have been designed such that with a small revision the system can be adapted to the future requirements of alternative fuels. Gelibolu Shipyard will continue to invest in innovative and technological projects” Oya AKSOY, Member of the Board at Gelibolu Shipyard
